Humanity Braces For The End In The Final ‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’ Trailer

No mercy. No peace. This is war.” The third installment of the Planet Of The Apes reboot series, War For The Planet Of The Apes directed by Matt Reeves, just flung a final trailer in our general direction. (The first two trailers are available here and here.) The final trailer features grenade-wielding primates and this scene, which didn’t include the subtitle we added but it was implied.

In War For The Planet Of The Apes, Caesar (Andy Serkis) returns, and this one adds Woody Harrelson as a ruthless adversary and Steve Zahn as a character called “bad ape.” We hope he’s a nice aardvark, but it’s more likely he’ll be a creature of the “ape dual-wielding semi-automatics on horseback” variety:

Man, we remember when we only had to worry about primates checking out our butts or building fires to roast marshmallows. Now they’re engaging in guerilla warfare. They grow up so fast.

In War For The Planet Of The Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

These apes aren’t monkeying f*cking around this July 14th.
