Arcade Fire Covered The ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Theme And Told The Crowd It’s A Song About Axl Rose

During their Saturday night show in Los Angeles, Arcade Fire treated the crowd to a special Beverly Hills Cop theme intro to “Normal Person” with Win Butler noting that the song is titled “F Axel” and it was, “actually written about Axl Rose. People don’t realize that.”

The song is actually entitled “Axel F” and is clearly named for Eddie Murphy’s character Axel Foley, so either Win Butler is full of sh*t or he’s in it for the lulz, knowing there’s a strong chance anyone born after 1980 might go along passing around that fun fact to friends. Oh Win, you dog.

For the record though: “Motown Philly” cover > Beverly Hills Cop
