The Supreme Court Released Audio Of Chief Justice John Roberts Reciting Eminem Lyrics Like A Boss

The United States of America is in an amazing country. The current president is African-American, the best news is fake, and the chief justice of the US Supreme Court raps some mad rhymes. No, seriously, John Roberts recited the lyrics for Eminem’s “’97 Bonnie & Clyde” during oral arguments in the first amendment case of Anthony Elonis last week.

According to Esquire:

Elonis was convicted for making violent, detailed threats against his wife and others on Facebook in 2010, and was sentenced to 44 months in prison. His appeal, which has since made its way to the Supreme Court, contends that these Facebook postings exercised his right to free speech and are protected under the First Ammendment [sic].

Roberts used Eminem’s lyrics to “challenge Deputy Solicitor General Michael Dreeben on Elonis’s case,” but his performance is far more significant than he realizes. Even now, Dr. Dre’s probably removing the Applie-owned Beats™ headphones from his ears to call the Harvard Law alumnus and sign him to a record deal. Move over Eminem, ’cause Skittle has arrived.
