It’s been one year since Future Islands made their (very, very weird) network TV debut on David Letterman’s Late Show, and the electro-pop band made their return last night. Letterman, who clearly seems smitten with the group, is gearing up to leave the program soon, which has resulted in some fantastic musical acts in this home stretch. Future Islands, who are based out of Baltimore, dedicated their performance to the promotion of peace in their home city as riots have flooded the streets. Check out Samuel T. Elsewhere in late-night TV performances Wednesday night:
- Tori Kelly brought her soulful voice to The Tonight Show with house band The Roots backing up her rendition of “Nobody Love,” a catchy R&B/pop tune.
- Tim McGraw pulled double duty on Jimmy Kimmel Live, playing two songs: “Overrated” and “Shotgun Rider.” His jeans remained incredibly tight for both performances.
