Jack White Seems Sad, And Doesn’t Want To Talk About The White Stripes Reuniting

Over the weekend, Jack White went on Third Man Records’ subscription site, The Vault, to do a Q&A with fans, which turned into more of a venting session than anything. White has done these in the past.

So, what did the Third Man Records head honcho have to say this time? When asked about his relationship Meg White and if The White Stripes would ever reunite, Jack responded, “She doesn’t answer her phone,” going on to add, “That time is gone.” He also doesn’t think a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction is likely, responding with a simple “doubt it.”

But it’s not just the past that White seems down about. White went on to say that he’s unsure if a full tour “is worth it” anymore. “I’d say half the shows I play I’d rather not play. Festivals, for example. But I have to make the best of it and try to get inspired.”

The strangest and most concerning answer? Someone asked White for something we might not know about him, and he responded, “That I don’t belong here, and most of the time, [it’s] torture trying to find reasons to stay.”

White seems to go on these rants from time to time. But don’t get too worried. Later in the Q&A, he admitted, “Nothing pisses me off. Sometimes, I pretend things do, though…”
