Chris Martin Of Coldplay Surprised A Bar In India With An Impromptu Concert

When you’re traveling abroad, it’s usually to escape the trappings of your boring, everyday life. So, imagine traveling along the beautiful roadside of Northern India, stopping into a cafe for a quick bite, and seeing Chris Martin of Coldplay performing a song at an open mic. You’d probably think you’ve been poisoned, or at least lightly dehydrated.

Yet, this happened at a small bar in New Delhi this week. Fans and onlookers captured the Coldplay frontman performing their massive hit “Viva La Vida” at the local bar Summer House Cafe, while everyone sang along. According to the Indian Express, he’s in town as part of the Global Poverty Project, a nonprofit that aims to eliminate extreme poverty by 2030.

For local fans of the group, it was probably a once-in-a-lifetime performance. But the Coldplay haters were probably thinking, “I f*cking hate open mic night.”
