This Guitarist Shreds Through 100 TV Theme Songs Perfectly

When you first pick up a guitar, one of the first things you might learn when you’re noodling around is a theme song to one of your favorite TV shows. Those tunes, essentially jingles for actual programming instead of commercials, have a way of burning themselves into the back of your brain forever. In this video from Reverb, you see local “riff-master” Joe blaze through 100 TV themes in one solid take like it’s absolutely nothing.

And the funniest thing about all of it, besides his special flourishes on songs like Arrested Development or Curb Your Enthusiasm, is that it’s guaranteed that you’ve probably never watched an episode of half of the TV themes that are played here. Yet, I would bet my last dollar that you’ve heard and know every theme Joe expertly shreds.

That’s the power of music. I still remember jingles for commercials that I haven’t heard since I was in grade school. But I know exactly where that Chevy dealership is and off what exit it is too. I’ll spare you the actual commercial, but still, the impression remains.

My only complaint about the video is that it’s missing my favorite TV theme of all time in The Kids In The Hall. (Both Knight Rider and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air come in at a tight second place.) What are some of your favorite TV themes that were missing here? Let us know in the comments.
