Listen To A Preview Of Coldplay And Beyoncé’s Collaboration, ‘Hymn For The Weekend’

With the release of Coldplay’s new album, A Head Full Of Dreams, soon approaching on Dec. 4, the band has taken a slightly different approach. In addition to the already unique news that the album will feature President Barack Obama on a track, and dancing with gorillas during their 2015 American Music Awards performance, the band has decided to leak snippets of all of the album’s tracks on Instagram.

This includes the highly anticipated song “Hymn For The Weekend,” the collaboration between Coldplay and Beyoncé, which also features Blue Ivy Carter. The preview, above, features the two singers on a funky, almost retro soul feel to it, which is counter to the idea of Avicii being on production of the track, as early credits have initially shown.

Along with the collabo, Coldplay previewed a few other interesting tidbits, including a track called “Fun” with alt-pop singer Tove Lo.

From the snippets we’ve heard thus far, this seems to be a departure from the U2-esque rock that Coldplay have been making for the past few years into something a bit more experimental. You can listen to a few more previews from A Head Full Of Dreams below.
