The year 2016 is proving to be a fruitful one for the good people over at Top Dawg Entertainment. After the successful surprise release of Kendrick Lamar’s Untitled, Unmastered, the current success of Schoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP, and the announcement of Isaiah Rashad’s new album, it seems like everything is moving onward and upward for the crew. And it appears they’re just getting started.

On Sunday night, a post shared by Top Dawg on Instagram showed that the final mix for Ab-Soul’s new album has been turned in. Soulo was last heard from in 2014 with These Days and he might be looking for redemption since his previous work received a lukewarm reception. While the expectations of his next project may have tempered a bit, there are still some die-hard Soulo fans looking forward to any new project he puts out.

In addition to Soul, Jay Rock’s follow-up to 2015’s 90059 is said to be 80% done. An Instagram clip features Jay Rock spitting some bars presumably from his unannounced album. The beat sounds soulful and introspective with Rock kicking bars with the kind of zeal fans have always appreciated from him. One can only hope that there’s an album full of heaters like the one featured here.
