Just when you thought Adele couldn’t get any cooler after killing Nicki Minaj’s “Monster” verse, here she goes attempting to twerk her British tea cakes at a recent show. Bless her English heart.
The “Hello” superstar recently performed at London’s O2 Arena and was compelled by the spirit of the twerking gods to shake her bum about. “Oh my god, did I just twerk? I think I just twerked!?” she says in a clip that captured her comical attempt at throwing that ass in a circle.
It wasn’t top-notch twerking, though, with Adele admitting, “I can’t do it that well. My whole body has to move. Watch,” before backing that thing up like a U-haul truck. “My bum could break my back, it’s so enormous.”
You can tell by her initial hand placements that this isn’t Adele’s first trip to the twerk rodeo. Still, it’s pretty admirable to see the shy singer conquer her fear of performing in front of a large audience. Last year, Adele said she had no intentions of performing at Glastonbury either, but now she’s reversed course. “The crowds are too big – I don’t know if I could do it.” London’s O2 Arena doesn’t hold 135,000, but 20,000 is a good starting point.
