Red Hot Chili Peppers fans can rest easy for now — Anthony Kiedis’ recent trip to the hospital is the intestinal flu and should make a full recovery. The 53-year-old singer reported “extreme stomach pain” which led to RHCP canceling their May 14th headlining appearance at KROQ’s Weenieroast.

The band’s website announced RHCP will also cancel their appearance for iHeart Radio on May 17th while Kiedis recovers.

“Due to Anthony Kiedis’ hospitalization from complications from the intestinal flu on  Saturday evening, the Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th.  They would like to extend their gratitude to the fans for the outpouring of well wishes.  Anthony is expected to make a full recovery soon.”

This has put a small snag in The Chili Peppers’ return to full-time touring. From 2011 to June of 2014 they played 158 shows with few breaks, which was the longest run in their career. This also included their Super Bowl halftime performance with Bruno Mars. Hopefully, this illness doesn’t hold them down for too long.

For now, fans can wait and see if the Peppers will hit their May 23rd tour date in Columbus, Ohio, or their May 29th date in Napa.
