Would you like to spend 90 minutes with Ariana Grande? (By our count that’s like 89 more minutes than we got of her in Scream Queens.) Saturday Night Live is offering up such a proposal to Arianators and non-Arianators alike when the diminutive diva serves up a double-duty shot as host and musical guest on this weekend’s program.
Along with the upcoming episode of SNL, we’re treated to the usual rapid-fire blast of SNL promos to hype up the show and remind you that Donald Trump won’t be hosting. How convenient! Grande’s paired up with SNL vet Taram Killam in these spots which feature a number of different gags, the most memorable of which is Killam’s interpretation of her hit “Problem” as “Prom Production.” (To Grande’s credit, she admits that “enunciation is not my forté.”)
This won’t be the first time the Sam & Cat star (NEVER FORGET) has popped up on Saturday Night Live. She kicked off last season as the musical guest with host Chris Pratt. Here’s a sliver of Grande appearing as She-Ra (a character that debuted eight years before she was born) during a sketch on that episode.
Grande (with or without her Sword of Protection) will showcase her acting and singing chops on Saturday’s episode airing at 11:30 ET/PT on NBC.
