The Best New Rap Music To Have On Your Radar

Hip-hop is moving as fast as ever. Luckily, we’re doing the work to put the best music in one place for you. This week we got videos from Gucci Mane and Megan Thee Stallion, Hit-Boy and Saweetie, and Kash Doll. There was also a new track from a recently home JT of City Girls, a preview of Pusha T dropping bars over a Succession theme flip, and a continuation of basketball beef between Shaq and Damian Lillard. Here’s the best of the rest:

French Montana, –“Twisted” Feat. Logic, A$AP Rocky & Juicy J

French Montana offered fans another taste of what to expect from his upcoming Montana album with “Twisted,” an uptempo, triangle-laden banger where he shares tales of wild nights along with Juicy J, A$AP Rocky, and even Logic.

Wiz Khalifa singles

If you’ve been paying attention to this column you know that Wiz Khalifa has been on a run the past month or so. This week the Taylor Gang MC dropped four more tracks. “Reevaluate” is an urge for people to rethink their “player ways” and get focused, while “PAID FOR IT” is an atmospheric collaboration with Chevy Woods where the two MCS recount how far they’ve come from their humble beginnings in “Pistolvania.” You can find all of his singles on his SoundCloud page.

MoneyBagg Yo & Megan Thee Stallion — “All Dat”

MoneyBagg Yo and Megan Thee Stallion show off their love for each other on “All Dat,” a thumping track. Both rappers aren’t shy when it comes to rhyming about their bedroom conquests, but it hits different when they’re actually on the track with their significant other.

Blueface — “Close Up” Feat. Jeremih

Blueface got with Jeremih and switched it up a bit for “Close Up.” The polarizing “Thotiana” rapper unleashed his trademark flow over a syrupy soundscape ripe for Jeremih’s smooth vocals.

Curren$y, Trademark & Young Roddy —- “Big Dogs”

Curren$y, Trademark, and Young Roddy are “Big Dogs” over an electro-hop production crafted by Cookin Soul. The self-affirming single is from their Plan Of Attack album, which is a long-awaited collaboration project from the big three of Jet Life.

DJ Shadow — “Urgent, Important, Please Read” Feat. Tef Poe, Rockwell Knuckles & Daemon

DJ Shadow gathered a trio of incisive lyricists for “Urgent, Important, Please Read,” a single from his Our Pathetic Age album. The three MCs take turns blazing Shadow’s searing production, calling for society to wake up from our collective reliance on technology.

RetcH — “My Cousin Made This Beat”

RetcH apparently showed some love to family on “My Cousin Made This Beat,” a manic production which he commandeers with his trademark intensity.

Homeboy Sandman — ”Lookout” Feat. Quelle Chris & Your Old Droog

This week, Homeboy Sandman offered up another single from his upcoming Dusty album. Ironically, “Lookout” is a fresh link up between Homeboy, Quelle Chris, and Your Old Droog, where the three unleash a lyrical exercise over a Mono En Stereo “beat so ill that I had to take the hook out.”

Blac Youngsta — “Power”

For the past several weeks, Blac Youngsta has been releasing songs from his Church On Sundays. “Power” is a confessional track where he rides a melancholy guitar melody and rhymes sweet nothings such as “I’ll kill a bear for you” to the object of his affection.

Lil Gotit — “No Talking” Feat. Slimeball Yayo

Lil Gotit released the low frills video for “No Talking,” a trap burner where he and Slimeball Yayo take turns over a whimsical production. The song is from Lilgotit’s loftily-titled Da Real Goat album.
