The most telling line in Beyoncé’s new single, “Bow Down,” which the FCC-upsetting air humper released last night via SoundCloud, occurs less than a minute into the track. Over a beat produced by Hit-Boy, best known for his work on “N*ggas in Paris,” she sings, “I took some time to live my life, but don’t think I’m just his little wife.”
I’m not sure who thinks of Bey, now more than fierce than Sasha Fierce, as simply Jay-Z’s lady, but if it means we’re that much closer to the follow-up to 2011’s 4, sure, whatever you say, Beyoncé.
