Well, after an incredible reaction to the Beyonce and Dixie Chicks supergroup version of “Daddy Lessons,” the song is now available for free download courtesy of the Dixie Chicks website, and streaming below.

Of course, the Dixie Chicks were ahead of all of us on this one, and began covering “Daddy Lessons” while they were on tour earlier this year. One critic had some choice words about the song, and the fact that it wasn’t made in Nashville.

Well, now that has been laid to rest since Beyonce has one of country’s most iconic groups on the track — and they hail from Texas just like she does. It’s important to remember that not all of country music happens in Nashville, and a lot of music that isn’t country happens in Nashville as well. Considering the intensive backlast the Dixie Chicks faced after they came out against President George W. Bush, it seems like a fitting gesture that Beyonce brought them back out to receive the enormous attention accompanying her on any stage always yields. Like we noted above, they’ve been touring this year, and perhaps this snippet of new music on the Beyonce remix is a hint that they more up their sleeve? We can only hope.
