The rumors began around 10 p.m. CST last night.
“Bill Murray’s in town, and he apparently really likes Best Coast…” Can you blame him? Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno have been cranking out catchy West Coast-pop for five years now. And they were playing UPROXX House, our official SXSW venue, to showcase their new, heavier album, California Nights.
Best Coast’s set was scheduled for 11:30 p.m., and about 15 minutes before, gossip became truth: the one and only Bill Murray walked through the venue. It was understandable chaos: everyone tried to snap a photo, which is why he had a small team circling (and a shock of white, wild hair on top of) him, straight into the VIP area, where he sat watching Bethany and Bobb play “Last Year” and “When I’m with You” before moving backstage. He reappeared a few minutes later, a moment Best Coast captured on Instagram.
