Carly Rae Jepsen Is Calm During The Storm Of Blood Orange’s Tightly-Choreographed Better Than Me’ Video

Blood Orange released the excellent Freetown Sound earlier this year, but as usual, Dev Hynes has been busy on much more than his solo work. He’s worked extensively with Carly Rae Jepsen since their collaboration for E•MO•TION, “All That,” helped win over the indie crowd that gave her so much cred. The two have renewed that partnership for a video to accompany a track off Freetown Sound called “Better Than Me.”

Carly also sings extensively on the song for the video — she did not appear on the version that was released on the record –and she takes her own verse as well as providing harmonies for Hynes on the chorus. A whole host of suit-clad dancers led by Hynes move through a studio space throughout the clip. I can’t one hundred percent guarantee it, but as someone who spent an entire profile and cover shoot inside of the Pfizer factory in Brooklyn, I will say this looks like it is inside that building.

Wherever it is, Jepsen and Hynes have proven once again that they’re a flawless duo. Could we get a joint album from them in the future? I’ll keep dreaming, for now watch the video above.
