Bruce Springsteen Danced With His 90-Year-Old Mother During His Madison Square Garden Show

Shows at massive venues like New York’s Madison Square Garden are impersonal by their nature. But Bruce Springsteen found a way to inject a little humanity into his set at MSG on March 28 by taking a moment to dance with his 90-year-old mother, Adele.

The Boss turned his show at the Garden into a mother-son dance during his performance of the 1980 song “Ramrod.” He noticed his mom getting down near the stage and took a stroll over to her to share in the dance. Dancing with your son as he performs in front of a crowd of thousands has to be a hell of a pay-off for Adele, who bought Springsteen his first guitar from a New Jersey pawnshop.

“She’s still got the moves,” Springsteen said after returning to the stage.

Springsteen proved that he’s pretty great parent material himself recently, signing a 9-year-old’s tardy excuse note after keeping the kid up with one of his characteristically long sets.
