Ever since Charli XCX’s impressive performance on SNL, I’ve been listening to her new album, Sucker, on repeat. It’s a lot of fun — angsty teen-pop rebellion will never go out of style, and neither will refrains like, “I don’t wanna go to school/I just wanna break the rules.” Charli didn’t show that ironic cheerleader side of her personality on Letterman last night, though: she put on some lingerie, slowed things down, and rolled around on a piano to sing “Need Ur Luv.”
Still very good.
