Dave Grohl Teamed Up With Prophets Of Rage To Cover MC5’s ‘Kick Out The Jams’

If a member of a rock supergroup promises a massive crowd a very special surprise, you can basically assume that it’s going to be Dave Grohl. Even if the Foo Fighters frontman is shown on film to be frozen in ice in his arctic fortress of solitude, the possibility of him appearing at a huge show still comes with 2:1 odds. So, when Cypress Hill’s B-Real — now a member of Prophets of Rage with Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk — reminded the audience in Toronto on Wednesday night that they had something “very special” that would cause everyone to “flip the f*ck out,” it shouldn’t have caused too many shattered monocles when Grohl took the stage.

But he was right, because people flipped the f*ck out as Grohl took the lead on a cover of the MC5 classic “Kick Out the Jams.” The moment begins around the 2:03 mark in the video above from the Prophets’ live show, but why fast forward to it when you can just watch the whole show? Maybe you already watched it. Watch it again. You know you have nothing better to do right now.
