Dave Grohl Told A Story Involving Taylor Swift Covering Foo Fighters For Paul McCartney At A Show In France

If you’ve lived a full life and had the kind of lengthy and interesting career like Dave Grohl has had, you probably have a lot of stories. Like, a lot of stories. And because you have so many tales to tell, you can throw a gem out there at the drop of hat. Proving this to be utterly true, the Foo Fighters leader was in France on Wednesday night, playing a private, acoustic show at the Cannes Lion Festival. With an intimate set up — nice little stage with a dusk-draped sea in the background — Grohl told a story before plahing “Best of You” that involved:

  • Paul McCartney
  • Taylor Swift
  • left-handed guitars
  • being high

It’s as if Grohl is just baiting the internet into writing about him. Come on Dave, we’re going to do it anyway.

Either way, Grohl described a scene where he was high at a party, and following an impromptu performance by McCartney, who the frontman says “is the baddest motherf*cker in the world,” Dave himself was urged to play something. But dude, Grohl doesn’t know how to play the piano and apparently the only guitars on hand belonged to the former Beatle and thus, were all left-handed. Grohl may seem like he can do anything, but playing a guitar strung for a left handed player was a bridge too far. Thankfully Taylor Swift was there to save the day.

Just another night in Cannes; just another story from Dave Grohl.
