Hear Father John Misty’s Rambunctious Demo For Lady Gaga’s ‘Come To Mama’

Lady Gaga‘s freshly crafted (and swiftly leaked) new effort Joanne has officially made its way into the world today. Have you given it a listen? (We see you, Little Monsters.) Our Caitlin White thinks you should give it a listen and now a new recording might give the skeptical a nudge. Or possibly scare them off. Either way, it’s sorta neato.

Beardo troubadour Father John Misty elected to celebrate Joanne‘s release by placing the original demo of “Come To Mama” on display. The title was apparently originally “Cum To Mama” which is either a Slade homage or an orgasm gag, we’ll let you sort out which on your own time.

“Congagarats on your release day gagaga and rondo,” reads a bit of text attached to the video. We’re reasonably sure Gaga and Mark Ronson are happy with the shoutout. Naturally, Father John Misty’s handle of the song sounds very Father John Misty-y (maybe with a dash of ’70s McCartney?), although it definitely is a detailed blueprint of what the Gaga version provides.

We have the FJM edition of “Come To Mama” located above to check out at your own convenience. Fingers crossed we might get a Brad Neely + Father John Misty full-length in the not too distant future.
