Popular recording artist and controversial mental health commentator Seal has locked up an exciting gig for the spring. He’ll be joining the increasingly fleshed out cast of Tyler Perry‘s upcoming live musical event The Passion.

As you probably gathered from the blend of The Passion and Tyler Perry, this Fox offering will be biblically minded. Seal will play Pontius Pilate in next month’s production, which will tell the story of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion, resurrection, and other key points in the religious icon’s final days on earth. Playbill helpfully notes that we’re looking at a Jesus Christ Superstar brand of timeline.

As we noted off the top (LOOK AT US GO!), Seal’s not only the name attached to this upcoming network special. Telenovela‘s Jencarlos Canela has been cast as Jesus, surprisingly resilient rock dude Chris Daughtry takes on the role of Judas Iscariot, and country veteran Trisha Yearwood has been pegged as the production’s Mary. As for Perry, he’ll be hosting, narrating and staging the whole thing. Don’t count on Fox to recycle their Grease: Live sets for this event. The Passion will take place in New Orleans and is being hyped as using some of the city’s iconic locations.

The Passion, which now has a valuable Seal of approval, is set to air on Fox on Palm Sunday, March 20. By the way, if The Passion isn’t your cup of tea, you can always rewatch Djesus Uncrossed again.
