Gorillaz Tease Their Latest Foray Into The Studio And A New Album

It’s been nearly six years, but it looks like a new Gorillaz album is finally happening. Band co-founder and animator Jamie Hewlett posted several snippets from the studio to his Instagram on Monday.

The first clip is a sped-up and soundless shot of some frantic recording sessions with French composer Jean Michel Jarre. The second is an honest-to-goodness preview with sound and everything. Check out the first post up top and the second down below.

In the only clip that provides a glimpse as to what the album will sound like, GOOD Music producer Anthony “The Twilite Tone” Khan is seen singing in a falsetto and dancing around a studio while providing his own drum track. In the studio with him is British singer Liam Bailey, who hinted at working on the new album last month on Twitter.

He later re-tweeted the news that Gorillaz are working on a new album. These clips and a few nods from Bailey are far from the only thing that point to new Gorillaz being imminent. Damon Albarn outright confirmed it in an interview with Rolling Stone, and Hewlett has been posting updated artwork of the band’s members to his Instagram for the last several weeks.
