Harry Styles Told James Corden What Stage Diving Is Really Like

Harry Styles has been on a media blitz promoting his brand new solo album, Sign Of The Times, which, well, had a lot of unrealized potential, but that’s neither here nor there.

Last night, Styles spent part off his week-long bromance with James Corden by performing the album’s eponymous single with a vampy, emotional aplomb that was more Paul McCartney than Bowie, the touchstone that’s been regularly invoked when it comes to the song’s sound. Styles may have been vampy, but he had none of Bowie’s magnificent, electric energy while performing. Then again, Bowie was a creature all his own, and so is Styles.

In another portion of the evening, Harry sat with James and discussed his failed first attempt at a stage dive. “It doesn’t feel as cool as you think it’s going to feel,” Harry said. “I thought it’d feel like flying, I thought it was going to feel like, ‘This is the most amazing feeling ever.’ Instead, it was like… I should get up now.” Then, they debate whether or not he could stage dive into the audience at The Late Late Show — in the end, they opt not to. Watch that pretty hilarious conversation below, and his performance above, and look for more James and Harry shenanigans throughout the week.

Sign Of The Times is out now. Get it here.
