My brain hurts: two versions of “One” played on the fifteenth day of the tenth month of the two thousand and thirteenth year by the guy who sang about saying hello two (not a typo) heaven. Damn you, Chris Cornell for your live acoustic mash-up of Metallica’s “One” with U2’s “One” — this kind of angry confusion is usually reserved for wondering why people like Audioslave more than Soundgarden more than Temple of the Dog.
Holy hell. This is so beautiful.
Has Chris Cornell heard of Michelle Shepherd? She’s leading the team in the northeast.
Cornell doesn’t get the credit he deservedly would were this the 70’s. Even with 60% of his voice left.
I agree. His work from Soundgarden to Audioslave and all the solo stuff has always been stuff I’ve been interested in and listened to a lot.
Acoustic mashups are fun…I played one with “You Shook Me All Night Long” and the Saved by the Bell theme song at a valentines day show once…it was over before people even realized what the hell it was
“It’s alright…cuz you shook me all night!”
Cornell is amazingly talented and one of the top voices of my generation. Sadly, he’s underrated though.
I love Cornell but he’s made some missteps in the last few years which could definitely be contributing to his being “underrated”. For instance, I cringe whenever I think of this fiasco:
