It Turns Out Axl Rose Isn’t The Greatest Singer Of All-Time. Here’s Who Is.

Concert Hotels’ ranking of the greatest singers of all-time was always going to be controversial, but it’s also WRONG (Axl Rose is still #1 on the Best Whistlers Ever list, though). VVN Music objected to Concert Hotels only including artists who “had made Rolling Stones‘ 100 Greatest Singers and the nominees for this year’s Billboard Music Awards,” so they expanded the search parameters.

So, who’s #1 now?

That would be Mike Patton of Faith No More fame (he can reach 6 octaves, 1/2 note), followed by Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Diamanda Galás, David Lee Roth, then Axl. I can’t remember the first Faith No More song I ever heard, but I do remember being fascinated with and terrified by Patton’s voice; he can sound like he’s being killed and the one doing the killing in a 30-second span.

But he didn’t rap-sing “My World,” so…yeah, Mike: 1; Axl: 0.
