Jamie xx Opened A Pop-Up Shop Named After ‘Good Times,’ Naturally

Jamie xx’s “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” is undoubtedly one of the biggest songs of the summer — not only did it make our own Final Four, but it also topped Spotify’s summer list — so the English producer and his record label, Young Turks, probably didn’t have to think too long to name their pop-up shop.

Called the “Good Times Store,” it’s at 312 Bowery in New York City, and is open daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through its closing on Sunday, Aug. 16. The shop will sell signed albums, some of Jamie’s best mixes on tape, and a new limited, signed edition of his latest album, In Colour. In addition, the store partnered with A1 Records to sell second-hand records selected by Jamie xx himself, Tim Sweeney of Beats in Space, Mike Simonetti of Italians’ Do It Better, and Ethan Silverman, founder of Terrible Records.

Naturally, there will be events sprinkled throughout the week, which will be announced via the Young Turks Instagram and/or Facebook page. Perhaps Jamie xx will bring Young Thug and Gyptian through, or maybe he’ll finally drop the official dancehall remix of “Good Times” — either way, it’s worth checking out if you’re in the New York City area.
