Watch Chance The Rapper Shout Out Ta-Nehisi Coates On The Hood Of A Car In Joey Purp’s ‘Girls @’ Video

While Chance The Rapper is the most visible member of Chicago’s SaveMoney crew, which also includes Vic Mensa and Donnie Trumpet, Joey Purp is swiftly moving up the ranks. He released the excellent iiiDrops mixtape in May to critical and fan acclaim. To continue the push, Purp has released a new video co-starring his famous friend for one of the project’s highlights, “Girls @.”

The bright, colorful visual is produced by Weird Life Films and shows Purp cruising around in the backseat of a lowrider en route to a race track. Once he gets there, he participates in a silly photoshoot with tables and chairs suspended in the air while surrounded by models, naturally. Then the real fun begins as Chance The Rapper joins the party by leisurely rapping his verse atop the hood of the lowrider while driven by the models. He shouts out girls who read in clubs and Ta-Nehisi Coates, which is a pretty great reference. Once he fully arrives, the group gathers together and everybody breaks out in dance. Needless to say, they all look to be enjoying themselves.

Basically Purp and Chance are having a great time hanging out with beautiful women while a music video just happens to be shot around them. Must be nice to have real friends in a harsh industry — even if it seems like not everyone in the group gets along sometimes.
