Alright! Let’s get this Taylor Swift/Katy Perry beef over with. Because if they’re anything we don’t need in this world, it’s two powerful women being petty over something that happened years ago. Katy Perry said in a SiriusXM interview on Tuesday that she’d be willing to FaceTime Taylor Swift to reconcile their differences. So, let’s get their assistants dialing so this can happen.

“Absolutely,” Perry said about Facetiming Swift when asked by a radio host. “By the way, I am ready because I think when women unite, the world is going to heal.”

As the story goes, Swift subtly revealed who she was dissing on her 2014 track “Bad Blood” when she hinted that another pop star had hired backup dancers out from under her. Sneaky fans quickly found out that Perry was the culprit, and after “Bad Blood” came out, Perry tweeted, “Watch out for Regina George in sheep’s clothing.”

Fast forward to now — after years of the media plumping up the narrative — and Perry is back with her own diss track, “Swish Swish,” which features the lyrics, “Don’t you come for me / No, not today / You’re calculated / I got your number.”

Katy, if you’ve got her number, then dial away. What are you waiting for? Well, according to her Sirius interview, she’s tried to reach out to Swift before.

“I did try and reach out to her,” she said. “I tried to do the right thing, the good thing, and, you know, she shut me down and wrote a song.”

Despite her “Swish Swish” ditty, Perry claims that she doesn’t have beef with anyone.

“I don’t have any beef really with anyone,” Perry said. “I love everyone, and honestly… I think we need to unite more than ever. I think we see that today especially. Like, we need to come together and love on each other today. Don’t matter where you come from, don’t matter what you believe, don’t matter which music you like the most, we are the same and we need to be unified.”

As for the lyrics in the new Nicki Minaj-assisted song, she says it’s more of a general proclamation of self-esteem, rather than a pointed dose of sass against one hater.

“‘Swish Swish’ just basically is like, I stay winning,” she said. “I’m above that crap. I’m gonna stay winning. You’re gonna try to hold me down, I’m gonna come out like a phoenix rising.”

In the latest edition of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, he got Perry to admit that she’d forgive Swift if she received a civil text from her. “I’m ready for that BS to be done,” she told Corden.

Text, Facetime, AOL Instant Messenger, Slack DM, whatever. We just need this to end soon.
