Rapper Lil B spoke out in an interview with CNN about the current presidential race. As an outspoken participant in the political process, Lil B explains how he was all set to vote for Hillary Clinton but switched to the Bernie Sanders camp. Sanders was highly retweeted during the Fox News GOP debate, but he ran into an obstacle with Black Lives Matter activists taking his mic at a Saturday Social Security rally.
CNN cites Lil B’s lyrical platforms, which critique the criminal justice system and enduring racial inequality. Then they swiftly move onto Lil B’s rationale for straying from Clinton: “No one’s really been saying anything about Hillary Clinton besides that she’s a woman and running for office. To me, it’s kind of like the same thing when Obama was running, but the difference is Obama seemed to have a more down-to-earth personality.”
Lil B has tweeted several reasons why he now supports Sanders. This one seems interesting.
Nah, it can’t be as simple as a Twitter follow. What really happened, most likely, is that Lil B dug into Sanders’ political history and was impressed with what he found.
