Watch Lorde Emotionally Cover Robyn’s ‘Hang With Me’ In Support Of Queer Youth

Lorde’s star-making debut came out over three years ago. And since then fans have been longing for a follow-up while the young Kiwi singer has kept a relatively low profile. But she made a rare appearance at a benefit for the Ally Coalition, a non-profit started by fun.’s Jack Antonoff and his sister Rachel to benefit LGBT youth. As part of the benefit show, the “Royals” singer covered Robyn’s “Hang with Me” accompanied by Antonoff on piano. Check that out up top.

In addition to her Robyn cover, Lorde joined all the other performers for a gang take on Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way.” In addition to Lorde, the closing number featured CHVRCHES’ Lauren Mayberry, Charli XCX, and Carly Rae Jepsen.

Jepsen performed “Run Away with Me”, her own hit from the criminally underrated album Emotion. Charli XCX performed “Boom, Clap” and Lauren Mayberry covered Katy Perry’s “Firework.” Listen to those below:

Other Lorde performances have been very sparse this year, but if you find yourself (David) jonesing for more, check out her tribute to Bowie from the 2016 BRIT Awards. Of course, that new album might be coming sooner than we think. She told fans that the album was written back in August.
