Two Metal Bands Honored A Fan By Spreading His Ashes In The Mosh Pit At Their Shows

Metal bands Behemoth and Dying Fetus offered one of the, well, most metal tributes to a fan of theirs who passed away, by scattering his ashes at their recent live shows.

According to a story from Loudwire, at a concert in Chicago on April 29, Behemoth frontman Adam Nergal Darski fulfilled fan Nick’s dying wish — to have his ashes thrown into a mosh pit. “I have never done this before,” Darski states before going into their song, “Antichristian Phenomenon.” “Our friend and massive Behemoth fan; his name was Nick. All I’ve got to say is, wherever you are, rest in peace, my friend.”

Fast forward to a week later on May 3, and Dying Fetus followed in suit during their performance in Chicago. Prior to the show, the band had posted this on Facebook:

The metal group not only scattered Nick’s ashes in the pit, but they did it during his favorite song, “Homicidal Retribution.” While venue owners probably want nothing to do with cleaning up the remains of a person after a concert, it’s still a pretty cool thing that these bands honored a true fan’s final wishes.

May you forever rest in the pit, Nick.
