Migos Pulled In Julio Jones For Their New ATL-Centric ’11 Birds’ Video

The city of Atlanta needs something to cheer about. The Braves reside in Cobb County of all places. The Hawks were just eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, and the Falcons, well they’re still getting trolled to death for blowing a 25-point lead in Super Bowl LI. Luckily for the city’s resident, Atlanta’s rap scene has picked up the slack. Fresh off conquering Coachella without even so much as having their own set, the Migos have released the video for “11 Birds,” featuring Atlanta Falcons wide receiver and NFL All-Pro Julio Jones.

In the video, which coincides with Champ Sports & Under Armour’s “The Moment” ad series, Jones joins the Migos in the studio to vibe out as Quavo raps on the chorus. “Have you ever seen birds on the field play? / Have you ever seen champions / ‘Cause we know game”. Takeoff’s verse mentions Super Bowl rings even though the hometown Falcons have fallen short of achieving the ultimate goal two different times in 1999 and 2017.

The entire thing is an Atlanta party. From dining in a fine Southern themed restaurant to shots of Jones playing with kids, the “11 Birds” video serves as both promotional tool for Migos & Jones but the city of Atlanta as a whole. The video concludes with the viral video of Quavo launching a football into a basketball goal from a pretty wide distance.

Jones’ name is synonymous with Atlanta rap these days. The former University of Alabama stand-out rocked CULTURE inspired cleats during the Falcons’ run to the Super Bowl as well as having been name checked by a host of Atlanta artists from Young Scooter (“Julio”) and Migos’ themselves from YRN 2‘s “Bars”.
