Surprising no one after chart data suggested a no. 1 first week for Culture II, Migos sophomore album officially took the top spot with just shy of 200,000 equivalent units sold.

With 199,000 equivalent units, Culture II makes Migos one of just five rap groups to have ever reached the top of the charts with multiple albums. According to Billboard, the only other rap groups to have accomplished this feat are the Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and D12.

Thanks to its longer format (which many rappers might be expected to try in future, given the proof of its success), Culture II accumulated the majority of its sales through streaming, with 150,000 of its total coming from 225.6 million streams of its songs. Per Billboard, this marks the second-highest total of streams since Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN., which garnered 227,000 streams in its first week.

Migos are set to perform on Saturday Night Live March 3rd and are already back in the lab working with Lil Yachty and Gucci Mane on the upcoming Glacier Boyz collaborative LP. Takeoff also has a joint project with Yachty in the works, while Quavo and Offset are still riding high from the success of their own respective collaborations outside the group.
