After releasing his third studio album, Wildheart, last year, Miguel has been touring consistently alongside Sia, and has made recent stops at major festivals including Boston Calling, New York’s Governors Ball and Bonnaroo. But the singer/songwriter/producer has also been teasing new music, like his remix EP Waves. Thankfully, he’s apparently been recording new tracks as well, in between tour stops, and last night he dropped a cool new single on his SoundCloud.

“Come Through And Chill” is just what we need as the temperatures rise. It’s a cool, mellow, psychedelic track with a cinematic feel to it, and it should definitely supplement your soundtrack for a sultry summer fling. Notably, for this song, the Los Angeles native teamed up with producer Salaam Remi, who is the brains behind several hits with Amy Winehouse, Nas, Toni Braxton and the Fugees to name a few. On “Come Through,” Remi infuses Miguel’s signature R&B sound with some more reggae-influenced beats.

Hopefully, we will hear more from Miguel in the upcoming months. Recently, he’s also performed with Win Butler and John Oates — the trio performed a cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” this past spring at the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in Florida.
