A 'New' Michael Jackson Album Is Coming Out

Michael Jackson was a skilled singer, dancer, actor, and Webster-friender, but he’s outdone himself now, despite being dead for five years: he’s releasing a new album! Well, “new.” XSCAPE, due out May 13th, is eight tracks of FRESH unreleased recordings with a modern spin, according to a press release.

According to a press release, Timbaland, along with Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome “Jroc” Harmon, and John McClain, added a “fresh, contemporary sound that retains Jackson’s essence and integrity.” Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid described the process as “contemporizing,” adding, “Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with.” (Via)

Hopefully it’s more Closer than Christmas Duets, which is to say, I’d like to hear MJ’s “Isolation.”
