These New Yorkers Started A Group Singalong When Their Subway Stalled For Hours

The power of music is strong, guys. Case in point? These New Yorkers who were stuck on an E train for two hours, and decided to sing a medley of Drake, The Weeknd, and DMX to pass the time.

Passenger Greg Wong captured the entire ordeal through Twitter, and a video that he uploaded afterward. The video shows fellow train passenger Chris Lewis starting the singalong with The Weeknd, before changing the lyrics to Drake’s “Hold On We’re Going Home.”

“F*ck this sh*t, I’m going home,” Lewis can be heard singing in the video, some joining in while others film. “It shows you how powerful music is in the midst of everyone wanting to kill the conductor,” Lewis told BuzzFeed Life.

When everyone was rescued, the passengers did what any passengers would do after getting out of such a situation: sing DMX’s “Party Up (Up In Here).”

And apparently some guy even pulled out his speaker and played “Suavemente.”

Anyway, the power of music is really great and although the circumstances that brought all of this together is lame, it’s still pretty awesome to see all of these people break into different songs and enjoy themselves the best way they could.
