Noel Gallagher is a perpetual quote machine. He’s an excellent interview subject who is known to give his opinions on anything and everything in the most colorful way possible. His cover story interview with Esquire fits right in with just about every time he’s opened his mouth near a Dictaphone. There are many highlights, but our favorite part was his discussion of fame. Gallagher is none too keen on most well-known musicians nowadays.
We’ve compiled a few highlights from the interview below:
“Fame’s wasted on these c*nts today. Bar Kanye. You watch him on the MTV Awards and you think, “You can f*cking stay, you’re alright.”
“… Who gives a sh*t what f*cking One Direction do? Cocksuckers, all of them in rehab by the time they’re 30. Who gives a sh*t what Ellie Goulding is up to? Really? Adele, what? Blows my f*cking mind. It blows my f*cking mind. Nobody cares! Fame’s wasted on them, with their f*cking in-ear monitors and their electronic cigarettes. And their fragrances that they’re bringing out for Christmas. You f*cking dicks.”
The rest of the interview is just as great, with Noel expounding on his relationship with Liam, the state of the music industry, his wife and cat (who he says is more of a rock star than the Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner) Check it out here.
