NYC’s PS22 Chorus Covers Gotye’s ‘Somebody I Used To Know’

By now you may be familiar with the work of the New York City, Staten Island specifically, elementary school kids who make up the PS22 chorus. They’ve had a few of their pop song covers go viral — our cousins at the Smoking Section have chronicled some of them — most notable of them all was their cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”  that was all over the internet last April. As Hypervocal notes, “the chorus directed by Gregg Breinberg has seen its view count on YouTube climb above 40 million over the years, and they’re still cranking out incredible cover after incredible cover for the world to watch in amazement of these talented kids.”

Their latest effort is Gotye’s “Somebody I Used To Know,” the video for which now has an astounding 72 million views on YouTube, and it’s almost as amazing as the original. Enjoy.

Additionally, below is a video of Gotye, along with Kimbra, performing the song live in studio…it’s pretty hypnotizing. A really beautiful, mildly haunting song.
