BREAKING: things are all kinds of messed up. Meanwhile, in girl-on-girl news

“It was a long road to get to that Britney and Christina kiss, because they weren’t necessarily the first couple of people who were on the hit list. This may be the first time it’s revealed, but originally J. Lo was in the mix. That didn’t happen. And the thing about Britney and Madonna was they had history, so it was not easy to get them together on the stage. Both Britney and Christina obviously respected Madonna, so only she could pull that off. You have to have that kind of pull.” (Via)

Can you imagine how different things would be if Britney hadn’t been the one to kiss Madonna?

Maybe she would have felt spurned by not being picked and wouldn’t have released the mediocre, Madonna-influenced In the Zone? Maybe she wouldn’t have enjoyed the scandalous attention the kiss brought her, and not married Jason Alexander, then broken up with Not George Costanza, then gotten together with K-Fed? Heck, maybe she wouldn’t have gone crazy, shaved her hair, and gone to rehab, all side effects of sharing steroid-heavy spit with Madonna. As for what it would have done for J-Lo’s career, meh. In every timeline, she still sucks.

In related girl-on-girl news, does anyone know what became of these ladies?

That poster was everywhere in the 1990s, and now it’s…nowhere. (Cool story, bro.) Get on it, hive mind.
