Christina Grimmie’s life was tragically cut short this past weekend after a performance at The Plaza Live in Orlando, FL. The music community was completely shocked over this senseless act of violence towards a singer with a career on the rise. Adam Levine, Grimmie’s mentor on The Voice has been at the forefront for supporting Grimmie’s family during this time of mourning. However, other pop stars are doing their own tributes to the 22-year-old singer. At a performance at WBLI’s Summer Jam in Wantagh, New York Meghan Trainor dedicated her hit ballad, “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” to the young singer who was slain in cold blood on Friday night. In the video of the performance which was uploaded to Trainor’s Instagram account, Trainor called for all audience members to hold up their phones and shine a light for Grimmie.

Girl group Fifth Harmony also took the stage at Summer Jam on Saturday night and asked the sold-out crowd to have a moment of silence dedicated to Christina Grimmie. According to Billboard, Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei spoke highly about Grimmie and called her, “such a beautiful soul.” Kordei continued, “From the moment that we met she was always nice to us. So humble. We love you and we are praying for your family. And we know you are smiling down from above. Let’s all bow our heads down. Chrstina Grimmie.”

Selena Gomez and her family also set up a tribute GoFundMe page for Grimmie who was “like a second daughter” to Brian Teefey, Selena Gomez’s stepfather. The GoFundMe page has raised well over $130,000.
