This 1920s-Style Cover Of ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ Is Way Smoother Than Bootleg Whiskey

Postmodern Jukebox does a lot of cool covers, taking some popular hits and flipping genres to something jazzier and vintage. That worked out especially well for this Valentine’s Day Massacre-inspired cover of Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise.” Featuring Robyn Adele Anderson as the sly speakeasy crooner, this song could have easily been snuck into an episode of Boardwalk Empire without anyone noticing it was a hip hop song from the mid ’90s. Al Capone would be so proud.
