Prophets Of Rage Officially Have An EP Coming With A Tracklist And Release Date

Prophets of Rage, the politically minded supergroup featuring members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill, have garnered a lot of attention since they came together. Now, they finally have a release date, and a tracklist, for their first release.

The five song EP, entitled The Party’s Over will be released August 25. They are not making us wait very long between announcement and release. Included in the tracklist is their first single, “Prophets of Rage,” which is their version of an existing Public Enemy song and also, of course, their namesake. There is also a new song called, fittingly, “The Party’s Over.” There are also three live songs, Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name,” Public Enemy’s “Shut ‘Em Down,” and “No Sleep Til Cleveland,” whose title riffs on the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Til Brooklyn,” and which likely is in reference to the fact Cleveland hosted the RNC this year.

Prophets of Rage, which features the three guys from RATM who aren’t Zack De La Rocha, B Real, and Chuck D, has been rabble rousing since their formation, and they are about to embark on a pretty major tour. Now at least they will have a release to promote with that tour, even if it is mostly the band playing songs by the bands they used to be in.
