Lou Reed is dead. I can’t think of another, more poetic way of saying it: Lou Reed, the singer and guitarist for the Velvet Underground, my favorite band of all-time, the guy who basically created the sunglasses-and-f*ck-you rock ‘n’ roll look, the man who gave us “Heroin,” is dead. The world is a lot less cool today than it was yesterday.
Lou Reed, an influential songwriter and guitarist who helped shape nearly fifty years of rock music, died today. The cause of his death has not yet been released, but Reed underwent a liver transplant in May. (Via)
