Social media doctors are outraged after Rihanna was photographed kissing her young cousin Majesty on the mouth. What was suppose to be an innocent snapshot has fans accusing the superstar of spreading “herpes” to the adorable little girl she calls her niece and spoils with the bestest gifts. I mean, really. What toddler do you know is “stunting on hoes” with a Chanel bag?

Anyway, the picture shared on a relative’s Snapchat shows a bare Majesty in a bathtub and her old auntie Rih Rih planting a kiss right on her lips. The picture was shared on The Shade Room where it recieved over 150,000 likes in less than 24 hours. However, some fans are calling the precious moment all kinds of inappropriate.

“Ain’t nobody but the MOTHER should be allowed to kiss their child on the lips, a fan commented before guessing the star’s sexual history. “Rihanna been passed around and ran through like a train, and y’all finna excuse her because she’s Rihanna? The woman is filthy and that’s disgusting.” Another shared similar sentiments, adding, “Yuck yuck…little girl you don’t know where Rihanna’s mouth has been. She spreading her herpes into the next generation.”

Other fans don’t see the big deal at all, and blames others for sexualizing children. “Sickos. This is an innocent picture. Society has lost touch with showing love to family,” clapped back supporters. However, some fans aren’t trying to hear it, pointing out to the dangers Majesty faces when Rihanna kisses her

“The mouth contain fluids,” a critic reminded in the comment section. “Babies have died from an adult kissing them on their faces and mouth. A mouth is one of their nastiest places on your body. Just think of all the things some people do with their mouth.” The commenter is referring to the many instances of babies dying after being kissed. In 2013, a newborn died from contracting the herpes simplex virus after his father kissed him on the cheek. Last year, a mom’s Facebook warning about kissing babies went viral after he daughter contracted herpes from a relative.

One expert thinks it’s more so about sexual thoughts than it it is about transferring viruses. Child psychologist Dr. Charlotte Reznick sparked outrage in 2014 for suggesting kissing on the mouth was too confusing for children. “If you start kissing your kids on the lips, when do you stop?” she asked. “As a child gets to four or five or six and their sexual awareness develops, the kiss on the lips can be stimulating to them.” Meanwhile, Dr. Paul Hokemeyer feels differently, telling Yahoo Parenting that “parents should keep and maintain boundaries with their children, certainly, but in terms of expressing affection [kissing] feels within the realm of normal.”

Of course we reached out to a medical professional to get to the bottom of this.

Basically, any exchange of mucus membranes can potentially lead to the spread of infections if one person is a carrier of that infection. VIral infections can be spread by droplets in the air that are then inhaled or by exchanging mucus membranes via kissing or sex. If Rihanna or any person for that matter had any symptoms of being sick then she shouldn’t be kissing anyone at that time, regardless of whether they are related or not.

The debate rages on. For what it’s worth, I never did like Uncle Jesse constantly kissing Michelle on Full House.
