St. Vincent’s New Song Begins With An Opening Line For The Ages

The heavenly St. Vincent has announced the release of a new self-titled studio album, due out February 25, 2014. According to Annie Clarke, she “wanted to make a party record you could play at a funeral,” or atop the nail salon version of the Iron Throne, which is what her album cover looks like. You can hear the album’s first single, “Birth in Reverse,” below. Please take note of the opening line: “Oh what an ordinary day/Take out the garbage, masturbate.” Truly the “Teenage angst has paid off well. Now I’m bored and old” for a hornier generation.
