September 2013 is going to be a helluva month for new music. New releases from Haim, Justin Timberlake, Sebadoh, Danny Brown will soon join Nine Inch Nails’ Hesitation Marks in our iTunes collections — plus, there’s whatever Arcade Fire has in store for September 9th. But the album I’m most looking forward to is The Electric Lady, the electrifying Janelle Monáe‘s sophomore effort after the conceptual sci-fi funk of 2010’s The ArchAndroid.
Or at least I was, because it’s already here, courtesy of a VH1 stream. In case you weren’t already sold, the album includes guest appearances from Miguel, Erykah Badu, and most magically, Prince. Hear it below.
