Justin Bieber Was Very Impressed By Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

It’s a scary world out there, so in times like these, it’s important that the singing Justins stick together. In that spirit, Justin Bieber was apparently a big fan of Justin Timberlake’s performance during halftime of last night’s Super Bowl, and was moved enough by it to share a tribute on Instagram.

Bieber posted a photo of Timberlake’s performance and praised his ability to own the space while singing and dancing:

“Loved this performance. So much prep for a performance like this, memorization, hits, choreography, while not running out of breath and singing in tune! You stayed in pocket effortlessly. You are a natural born performer and you make people all around the world smile when you are on that stage!! Loved cheering you on brotha!”

Bieber was a JT fan long before his Super Bowl performance: In 2015, he cited the progression of Timberlake’s career as a model for his own:

“Look at Justin Timberlake. You know, he was in NSYNC and of course they had an amazing sound but it was also, it was young. It was for teenagers. And I feel when he transitioned and started making ‘SexyBack’ and stuff, he really found something that was unique to what he was feeling and what he wanted to do. So I think it takes time as an artist to develop your style and develop what you like and what you don’t like.”
