Sylvan Esso Search For Snacks In The Apocalyptic ‘PARAD(w/m)E’ Video

While 2017 was a banner year for Durham duo Sylvan Esso, including a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic Album for last year’s What Now, 2018 looks to build on that success. The pair has already announced a massive tour that will see them headlining the biggest venue of their career, which was enough to land them on our Most Anticipated Tours list, and just last week, they offered up a new single in the form of “PARAD(w/m)E.”

Today, we get the dance-filled video for the song, directed by Dan Huiting and produced by Kobamm Productions and Meow Wolf. The clip focuses on vocalist Amelia Meath as she and her troupe of backup groovers travel the abandoned roads of a post-apocalyptic desert. When they all find a convenience store to raid, it all becomes a sort of hybrid between Mad Max, 28 Days Later, and Burning Man, where snacks look like they’ve never satisfied people more. If one thing is clear, it’s that Sylvan Esso is enjoying their success, and using their bigger budgets to create musical experiences that are truly memorable.
